Belgrade, Fortress Kalemegdan, Despot Stefan Tower

The Dizdar Tower or Despot Stefan Tower is a structure in Belgrade, Serbia, built in. 1405, a couple of years after the city became the capital of Serbian Despotate under Despot Stefan Lazarević.

Today, the tower is the seat of the Astronomical Society Ruđer Bošković and houses its Popular Observatory. The Observatory has two instruments: refractor Zeiss (110/2200mm) and reflector Tall 200 K (200/2200mm), bot of which are used mainly for observations at night. Four panoramic telescopes are also mounted on the tower, which can be used to observe the panorama of Belgrade.

On the photo is a memorial statue of chimpanzee Sami, the monkey who is in Belgrade zoo arrived on 12 January 1988 and quickly became a favorite of all people of  Belgrade and more then that. And there is the story, who was Sami?

Who was Sami?

Sami has gained its popularity, on the way that it managed twice to escape from the zoo and get attention of the public and all sympathy.

First time he managed to escape on 21 February 1988.and have causes real mess in Belgrade. After one hour of chase through the streets of Belgrade, appeared Vuk Bojovic, a longtime manager of the zoo in Belgrade and managed to persuade a chimpanzee to come into his car, saying, "Sami, let's go home".

Stories about first Sami escape was still on air, Sami managed to escape second time in 23 February 1988. about 10 am.

After new chase through the city, Sami managed to climb to one garage. News about Samis new escape spread quickly through the city. In the street where is the garage quickly gathered more than 4000 people, carrying parols with slogans, "Sami we are with you", "Sami you're right", , "Sami not go down," "Do not give up, Sami"... There were loud chants in style, "Be careful, Sami", "We will not let you, Sami" …

After a long and unsuccessful persuasion, they decided to put him down with a tranquilizer gun. In that time Belgrade zoo did not have tranquilizer gun, so they needed to take it from Osjek zoo. Sami taken down in 5 pm, when temperature drop to almost 0 celsius degrees. Sami recovery lasted a few days with antibiotics and teas.

Sami has unfortunately died of an extremely dangerous disease, on 11 September 1992 in 1 hour after midnight. His autopsy showed that the cause of death was infarction of hose.

All newspapers published the sad news. They called it a popular Belgrade dissident, moody maverick,, a great gentleman, Dorcol refugees, alpha leader, a leader, an idol of children …

Sami was buried on the lawn in zoo in Belgrade, in front of a new home for the monkeys. Sami Monument statue was built on the 60th anniversary of the founding of the zoo, on 12 July 1996. Bronze statue of Sami will forever stand there and remind us of the wonderful moments of friendship with him.

In the company of flying ants

Swarms of flying ants were everywhere around us. Ants on their nuptial flight in a sunny afternoon they made this our little trip interesting.

When we left our home we saw a big swarm of flying ants. in beginning we thought . it is only one swarm but later we realize, there is many  swarms around us.

We decided to continue our trip, because it was very nice Saturday's afternoon for walk.

We have not repented, regardless of the circumstances. We managed, up close to record ant queen, how run on the table. It is a little shaky, but she is so fast.

Our  trip is about 7 kilometers long. On our movie we record you can see many flying ants, there are thousands of it.

This time we repeated one route in which we rarely walk. It is as I said rout 7 km long, and it go from Stubica to location called Anski Potok, and back to Stubica, but on a little different way. We go trough part of Stubica called White Hill, then through village cemetery, next to the village church, and back home.

Fotolia protection on customers detriment or something else?

Everyone who use Fotolia for selling they products, surely sometime made mistake when writing title, description or keywords. When this happen, they want to correct mistakes they made, but then they find out that it is mission impossible. The question is, why they do this to us?

As usual I have uploaded files on Fotolia, then I have added titles, descriptions, and keywords for every product. Next day, my wife noticed that i made mistake on title and description on one of files I added. I check this and I noticed that I made one more mistake on this file, I wrote wrong keyword for it. So, OK, mistakes are usual in that kind of work.It is not a big deal. I go to Fotolia to correct mistakes. I searched way how to do that, but on my big surprise I didn't managed to find, how to do that. I tried to find solution on internet, but again surprise. I find out that it is impossible. Fotolia from some reason don't allow users to change title, description and keywords, after they accept file on Fotolia.

I don't understand, why is this so? There is no any logical explanation for something like that. Fotolia don't look on products by titles, they index all products and give to all products unique index number.

I have some thoughts about this which brings mi to some conclusion. Maybe Fotolia on that way protect they servers from any kind of pressure, but is this right way? How much is right, that one so big company for self protection or some other reasons made system that is against interests of they customers.

I was so angry after this findings. I was so angry that I started to search some other service to sell my products.

When my anger a little passed, I decided to contact Fotolia support. I send one message to Fotolia support with detailed description of my problem.

They save the day. Fotolia support is in record time correct my mistakes, and informed mi about this. They also told me that I can\t change title, descriptions and keywords after I submit products on they system. Which I already know.

But, it is big BUT, Why is it so? Fear of future mistakes, make me nervous, so I will never understand, why some big companies have need to mistreat they customers.

Google Photo duplicates, omissions happen to greatest

Very often we encounter with bug in a program or on a online site and of course we are very angry about that. A big players such as Google, are doing it in grand style, make mistakes and ignoring customers complaints.

Google Photos, previously known as Google+ Photos is quite intertwined with online photo storage service named Picasso, which is also owned by Google, but it have slow developing, I have impression it shooting down. It is not the only service with photographs owned by Google, there is a famous Panoramio, which Google purchased and we can say repealed.

The impression is that Google everything related to photography, grouped into one main service, Google Photos. Many of you maybe didn't use it, but you have probably seen it at least on your android mobile devices.

As I said, the big players make big mistakes. This is a huge mistake. In my opinion, it is totally uncovered use case.

First, I want to briefly describe Google Photos for those who question what it was doing and whether it could been usable for them.

Google Photo is used for storing and sharing your photos. Google can keep them in their original quality and then you have 15 Gigabytes of shared space, also you can save them in how Google is calling this, high quality if you chose this, then you have unlimited storage for photos. This high quality is quite sufficient for those who like to share pictures with friends, or to have them all at any moment in a pocket.

When this software is placed on your computer or some other device, it will pick up all your photos and video clips long less than 15 minutes from the locations from which you tell him to do that, and send it to Google servers. Of course, your files will be private, but you will be able to share it with anyone you want or setting them to be public.

Now the reason why I started to write this article. When you install a program that backs up your photos from your computer or some other device, and you say googled where you keep your images and videos, he will pick them up or collect it for days, if you have a lot of things, as it was in my case. When Google finished, that's it. You can also set Google to oversee specific folder and whenever you add a picture, he does the same at Google. All this good work until the time that you decide to reinstall you operating system.

You install a new OS, then it is time to return the applications and between other you install Google Photos application. Of course the same settings, you say it where your picture are placed, and then it foolishly pick up again almost all your photos and drag them to Google server. It might not be so bad that on the Google Photos service there is a possibility to resolve that, but no, there is no way to remove duplicates on Google Photos service, so I've got 4 copies of almost all photos on Google Photos, so instead I have between 25-30 thousand pictures, now have almost 80 thousand pictures.

It is appalling that such a giant can be so missed. And perhaps even worse, they do not care about that.
